President Barak Obama Bowing To Saudi King
By Aryeh Spero
When the President of the United States
goes abroad it is not just a personal event. He goes as a
representative and as the embodiment of the United States. He is acting
in behalf of the American people.
President
Obama's unsolicited pronouncement overseas of America as ”arrogant and
divisive" may have appealed to Europe's America-bashers as well as
liberal elitists here in America, but it was certainly demoralizing to
our people and is an inaccurate portrayal of America.
His assertion that "too often America has disregarded Europe
and gone it alone" flies in the face of America's repeated attempts to
work together with Europe and ignores the reality that due to Europe's
timidity and policies of appeasement America has often been forced to
alone shoulder the burden of protecting the West, including Europe.
America
was built on the concept of all men being created equal, and from her
outset abhorred the notion of a birth-righted royalty or of a masses in
deferential need of a king. The President's full bow to the King of Saudi Arabia
was contrary to the demeanor of all preceding Presidents and displayed
an un-American deference to kingship and tyrants. The President did not
bow to Queen Elizabeth. One wonders, then, if there was a Presidential message that we in the West are submitting to Islam.
His
call for us to be nuclear free would leave this country and our
children vulnerable to nuclear attack from our enemies who already have
or will soon have nuclear weapons capable of reaching American cities. It is a view totally at odds with the Constitution that requires a President to first and foremost protect our population from foreign invasion.
The
President went out of his way to once again mis-characterize our
country by diminishing its Christian component -- which is so central
to it -- and by elevating Islam as an institution almost equal and as
important to the history of this country as has been and is
Christianity.
His unnecessary claim that "America is not a
Christian country" is true only in the sense that we are not a
theocracy. It is, however, completely misleading when over 86% of our
population identifies itself as Christian and is more so wrong in that
even those here who may not identify as Christians perceive this
country as being guided by a Judeo-Christian
ethos that has been here since our nation's founding and continues to
animate our values. Many non-Christians are delighted that this country
lives not by Islamic principles but Christian ones.
The President continues his attempts to elevate Islam to a foundational position here it has not earned. While Moslems
have recently begun living in the United States, Islam did not play a
role in shaping the unique American culture and values that began with
our Founding Fathers, nor has it from our birth through the Twentieth Century provided any significant contribution to or sacrifice in behalf of America.
Indeed,
the Islamic cultural and religious outlook differs greatly from the
American one, as do the hierarchy of values that derive from a
differing view of life, of man, and ontology. Mr. Obama has promised
"change" but he cannot change reality nor is he entitled to rewrite
history to fit his vision of how America should one day be. His
obsession throughout this tour with elevating Islam while minimizing
Christianity, glorifying Islam while deriding America, and being
Islam’s advocate, almost missionary-like, leads one to think of Obama as the Caliph-in Chief .
This
man who thinks of himself as more than a mere President but a
transnational Premier spoke not a word about the Jews in Europe, the
Hindus in the Orient, or Black Christians in Africa suffering under
raging Moslem mobs burning synagogues, churches and temples and
physically battering old men, and raping women and children who are but
infidels. Yes, his conduct abroad was quite a “change” from previous
Presidents. It’s just another one of the Obama “changes” this country
would be better off not having, nor witnessing.
