Contrary to earlier claims by the Obama Administration of 1,000 dead, the CDC has  announced that more than 4,000 Americans have already  died of swine flu and that millions more are infected.  This number far exceeds those who passed away last year, despite the fact that the Obama Administration has had much more time and information to stave off the suffering that is now going on. Children have not fared well, with 540 already dead and 36,000 hospitalized. Nearly 100,000 Americans have been hospitalized thus far and 22 million are infected.

This is Obama’s Katrina. Far more people have been killed by this epidemic, even though, unlike Katrina, it was predictable and there were many months to avert the catastrophe.

As with everything else, the Obama Administration is blaming its failure on big business.  It is the drug companies, they say, who have been delinquent in delivering the vaccines. The truth is that it was the Obama Administration, in the name of the latest environmental fad,  that demanded that drug companies change the way in which  vaccines are made, thus delaying production and delivery. 

The silence of the media in contrast to how it reported Katrina, with all of their graphic visuals and denunciations, is one of the reasons the country is not yet up in arms. Until this week, few knew the number of deceased. The Administration that promised  transparency is instead providing stealth, just as it is  trying to convince us that a Muslim terrorist who mowed down  Americans at Fort Hood while crying out Allahu Akhbar  was not motivated by Islamist ideology.

The Administration that claims government is best at providing health care is incapable of handling one of our most predictable and preventable medical challenges. Unlike Katrina, where minute by minute the media showed people waiting in line for food, one hardly sees the nationwide phenomenon of hundreds of people waiting in lines for hours who are then told to go home due to a lack of available vaccine. 

Since day one, this administration has boasted of making “smart” decisions out of a belief that, unlike the rest of us bumbling idiots, they are the “smart people”. So “smart” are they that the hands-on years of real experience and knowledge of others in industries such as energy, medicine, banking, and automobile manufacturing are discounted and considered negligible. America is in the grip of a command- economy, orchestrated by a cadre of “smart” theoreticians who think they know everything there is to know about everything. This same group wants to take control of our healthcare and demands that we forfeit our liberty to choose what is best for us and rely on those companies that can best deliver what we need.

But the most pernicious element in this whole scenario is that many Obama-ites are not waiting in line as are the rest of us -- they have already received the vaccine that most of their fellow Americans must yet await.  Rahm's friends on Wall Street -- at Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and other high-powered firms -- have already received vaccinations. This is the second bail-out the Obama Administration has provided Wall Street: the first being financial, the second, medical. After all, they tell us, “they are too big to fail” and now, evidently, they are too important to get sick. 

Another favorite are players in certain big-league sports franchises. If anything, the Rush Limbaugh incident revealed that the players’ union, whose leaders and many members are either connected or sympathetic to the Obama Administration, appear to have a reciprocal relationship with the Administration which is dispensing and is in charge of life’s necessities.

The social engineers within the Administration know that American stability requires that the sports matches that entertain so many Americans remain uninterrupted. The Obama Administration can move confidently forward with its socialist agenda of making the people dependent upon and subservient to government by ensuring that "the masses have their bread and circuses".  Too many Americans remain comatose and are unaware how drastically American life is changing since, after all, their sports teams are still playing.

Following the rules set forth by the communist organizer Saul Alinsky, the apparatchiks in the Obama Administration know that the way to finally render Americans servile to the liberal Democrat machine and ideology is to enact policies that will keep pumping money into the party machine and provide a living for those whose fealty is to the Party. Government money is used to hand over the auto industry to the unions so that a percentage of every car purchase, even by a Republican, ends up as a donation from the union to Democrat candidates. Similarly, government money -- our money-- was given to the fat cats on Wall Street who, unbeknownst to the public, are liberals after hours and give far more to the Democrat Party and liberal causes than to Republicans and traditional causes.  

Today’s socialists are not against capitalism per se, only against capitalism for those who are not part of their cultural and ideological orbit. Unlike the poor socialists of our youth who mocked wealth, today’s liberal elite understand the personal and political benefits of wealth and feel entitled to it and the power it grants them. They themselves, be it George Soros, the speculator, or Peter Lewis, the insurance tycoon, will reap the benefits of capitalism, as will Al Gore and friends reap the profits from cap and trade bills, though at the same time regular citizens, the middle class, will strain and loose wealth due to socialist policies.

The Obama-ites know how to co-opt the system so as to take care of their own while ignoring and even hurting the rest of us. Unions, civil servants and victim groups – large voting blocks – and other constituencies, such as academia, loyal to Team Obama/Pelosi will be taken care of and, thus, guarantee his power: play for pay. Tax policies are being erected that will not only hurt small, independent business owners normally conservative but which are downright antagonistic to those businesses the Administration wishes to fail and later control. The message: it pays to be a friend of Obama; you'll be hurt if you stand in his way.

The stimulus money that we were told was necessary for immediate release so as to “save the economy” has thus far been mostly held back. It is not going to the major construction projects that were on the shelf. Instead, much of it is reportedly being diverted by the Obama Administration for gigantic, multi-million dollar earmarks for those Congressmen in need of “persuasion” to vote the Obama way. Much of it is being held in reserve for future projects to “stimulate” congressman, constituencies and other friendly groups. The "experts" within the Administration suckered Americans out of their own money so as to finance the political careers and future of the Obama-ites.

A liberal oligarchy is taking hold over America, one that believes in the profits of capitalism for itself and that will dispense jobs, livelihood and medicine to those who will tow the line and be forever grateful to the government oligarchs who bestow the needs of life. This is Obamism/Rahmism: distribute wealth and power to your friends and impoverish your enemies so that they become powerless and incapable of mounting an opposition. It is a wealth purge and the demographic cleansing of conservative, middle America. It is designed to make us powerless.

As with everything the Left does, this evil is ensconced in words and proclamations of morality. Worse, it is being funded by the very taxes that we Americans provide the Administration. As Lenin said, they will supply the very rope by which we socialists will hang them.
